We hiked to Mystic Falls as part of a morning ranger talk so we got a lot of nature and history as we went. Started around 8pm so there was a beautiful sunset view to pair with the falls! Be careful because the trail seems to keep going at that point, then gradually dissolves to deep forest.Did this hike last week, we went clockwise like others have recommended.

Mystic Falls can be reached by CO-145 from the Mountain Village. I have never encountered this many mosquitos in my life. Trailhead is Biscuit Basin. This waterfall is amazing. Definitely recommend doing the loop clockwise and stopping for lunch at Fairy Falls.
Mystic Falls 1.6M. The mosquitoes were on full blast, but definitely bearable with some bug spray.

Many goat trails. Mystic Falls, Biscuit Basin, and the Biscuit Basin Overlook makes for a fantastic hike including a waterfall, fantastic geothermals, and wonderful views in one short hike. It was suggested to us to go clockwise and we whole-heatedly agree. There are several small hot springs along the banks of the falls and downstream. K-Flynn wrote a review Sep 2019.

Was a nice hike to do to see mystic falls and the basin overlook but my favorite part was the switchbacks going back down the falls with all the flowers along the trail. If you could get back to me ASAP, I am trying to recreate this....

The snow made it a rough traverse, but falls well worth the hike.

The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until October. You start the hike by walking along the boardwalk of my personal favorite spring/geyser in Yellowstone- The Biscuit Basin. When we arrived we had ~10 minutes before Old Faithful erupted again, and we were able to see it from afar! The view from the top is great.
